Emma Weir - Qualified Instructor
I have over 13 years experience of working in the Early Years Sector with children and families aged 0-19 years with a specialism of working with babies. I hold a degree in Early Years with Early Years Professional Status and many other relevant qualifications in the Early Years sector.
I am currently working part time as a Children's Centre Manager, which has allowed me the opportunity to develop my career in delivering Infant Massage classes as working in the early years is something I am very passionate about.
I trained as a Certified Infant Massage Instructor in February 2009. I have taught many classes over the years which have been mainly in Children's Centres with vulnerable families with varying needs. It has been a fantastic opportunity to see the benefits for families, not just for the babies but for the parents/carers and immediate family.
From my experience of teaching Infant Massage I decided to train and become and instructor with The Children's Reflexology Programme to develop my skills further. This course has provided me with so many more opportunities to develop my business further and how reflexology for children can have numerous benefits for the whole family.
All my classes are done through songs and for the Children's Reflexology a story at the end is read ''The Mouse's House" written by the wonderful Susan Quayle.
There are so many benefits which children's reflexology can have including:
* Support to relieve the symptoms of wind, colic and constipation
* Improve relaxation for both child and caregiver
* Encourage to develop the bond between caregiver and child
* Help encourage longer sleep
* Support with reflex and other childhood ailments.
